The South Asia Water Initiative (SAWI) improved cross-border management of the Indus, Ganges, and Brahmaputra river basins that are home to nearly 1 billion people. SAWI, a trust fund supported by the governments of the UK, Australia, and Norway, produced more than 200 analyses and reports on climate resilience, flooding, crop irrigation, hydroelectric power, and other issues central to reducing poverty in the region.
