Leaders of several political parties in Bihar have been chartering expensive helicopters for campaigning in the ensuing polls to the provincial legislature. This has invited the wrath of many social activists who contend that such mode of canvassing would make the polls a costly affair.However,the leaders have their own answers and they cite the time factor for the usage of choppers.During the 2003 elections in Bihar,conducted in four phases,politicians literally logged 1600 hours of flying in the helicopters.
