Classrooms across Russia are slowly becoming bleak monuments to Russia’s war dead. New school desks known as “Hero Desks” are popping up, emblazoned with the faces and military achievements of former pupils, now among the growing ranks of Russians killed in Ukraine. Clare Sebastian reports.
