Karnataka registered a voter turnout of 73% on May 10 which is the highest ever in 7 decades. Most exit polls have given an edge to the Congress in Karnataka. It looks like a tight contest between the BJP and the Congress. And if these numbers hold, the JD-S could once again end up playing kingmaker even after emerging third in the contest. Exit polls have predicted the BJP's performance is in the range of 71- 114 while the Congress may manage to get seats in the range of 86- 131. HD Deve Gowda's JD-S is likely to get between 12- 28 seats.
