The EC on Tuesday ordered the removal of Virendra as the West Bengal Director General of Police with immediate effect. He has been replaced by P Nirajnayan as DG and IGP of the state. The move came in the wake of several political parties complaining to the Election Commission, alleging that Virendra was inclined towards the ruling TMC.
