On 11 June 1986, after the vote of a resolution by the European Parliament. The Parliament, the Council and the Commission sign a Joint Declaration against Racism and Xenophobia. The text condemns all forms of intolerance, hostility and use of force on the grounds of racial, religious, cultural, social or national differences, and tends to protect the individuality and dignity of every member of society and to reject any form of segregation of foreigners
