Speaking on the Supreme Court’s stay on the conviction of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the defamation case over the ‘Modi surname’ remark, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on August 04, welcomed Supreme Court’s decision and said that Justice has been done. Tejashwi Yadav said, “Yesterday, it was a historic day. We welcome the Supreme Court’s decision and justice has been done.” During the hearing, the Supreme Court remarked that a person in public life is expected to exercise caution while making public speeches. Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to two years imprisonment which disqualified him as an MP under the rigours of the Representation of People Act.
