As the date of the Budget presentation inches closer, the Halwa ceremony, marking the final stage of the preparation process, was held in North Block on Tuesday in the presence of Union Finance Nirmala Sitharaman. A customary Halwa ceremony is performed every year before the “lock-in” process of Budget preparation begins. Apart from the Finance Minister, other members of the ministry, like MoS Pankaj Chaudhary, CEA V Anantha Nageswaran, Finance Secretary TV Somanathan, and DEA Secretary Ajay Seth, were present in the Halwa ceremony.
