(Here in Kent donated quilts go to the special care baby unit at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford and to foster children in the county. Did this make me dizzy to film and edit? Why yes it did! But I couldn’t think of any other way to showcase the 2️⃣0️⃣ quilts that we donated to @journeyhomect! ✂️ Most of these quilt tops were made during our Community Quilt Day back in January (the others were donated by our at-home quilters!). Then those went home with some amazing volunteers (@sew_with_mae @alisonhaigis @dotfams @sarahporiss — who did I forget?!) for quilting and binding. It’s a process and I can’t thank everyone enough for a ▶・

But I couldn’t think of any other way to showcase the 2️⃣0️⃣ quilts that we donated to @journeyhomect! ✂️ Most of these quilt tops were made during our Community Quilt Day back in January (the others were donated by our at-home quilters!). Then those went home with some amazing volunteers (@sew_with_mae @alisonhaigis @dotfams @sarahporiss — who did I forget?!) for quilting and binding. I just wanted to share a little bit about this wonderful group. Hugs & Stitches was started in May 2022. Anyone is welcome to come and help. Sewing, ironing, pining together the front, batting and backing or just cutting out fabric helps! We have donated quilts to refugees, food banks, shelters, and many other places that could use them. Since starting over 200 quilts have been donated and many more in progress! Some have learned how to sew when they come and some just want to give back to ours ▶・

I always come away buzzing and rearing to go and sew up more quilt tops to be long arm quilted by the wonderful team at @littleshopoffabrics who volunteer so much more than just their time for this wonderful cause. ♥️ We also got to meet a case worker from @dandeliontimeuk who take donated quilts from our group and distribute them to children aged 6-13 who have all experienced some form of trauma in their young lives.
