Hacks to stay cool in crochet this summer 🥵⬇️ Okay, first of all, I live in a super-mega-hot-humid city—aka Jakarta 🥵 It’s hot every day, even when it rains 😭 But you might wonder: how do I survive wearing crochet clothes outside? (Psst… yes, you can stay modest in crochet during summer—if you choose the right designs 😉) Here’s how! 1️⃣ Choose the right yarn weight! No yarn thicker than DK in my dictionary 🫣 Even better, I usually go for sport or fingering weight yarn 👌🏻 2️⃣ Pick the right yarn blend! I’d suggest avoiding wool and acrylic—they tend to feel hotter and stick to your skin when you sweat! (I sometimes use acrylic blends for dresses though, just to keep them lightweight 🫣) 3️⃣ Opt for plant fiber yarns! Rayon and bamboo have a natural cooling effect on the skin. Cotton is also a top choice for breathable summer pieces! 4️⃣ Crochet summer-friendly designs! This might sound obvious, but a bulky wool crochet sweater isn’t going to keep you cool 🥵 Go for lightweight, breathable pieces—even outerwear! (My Bailey, Riley, and Dakota patterns are all perfect for summer layering!) And that’s it for my tips! 😉 I wear my crochet clothes a lot, and honestly, I don’t really sweat in them—even in this hot, humid weather! Most importantly, have fun with your crochet 🫶🏻✨ If you have any other tips, feel free to share it with us in the comment section! 💐 P.S.
